Studio Etiquette / FAQs

Please, leave your shoes in the coat room, do not go into the studio with them on.
Ideally, we would like a phone free practice space. If your personal or work situation requires you to have your phone in the studio, please leave it on vibrate.
Please, do not take pictures or videos in the studio. This is a safe practice space and others may not want their image or likeness captured. From time to time the studio may request pictures or videos, but this will be cleared in advance with all students.
Place your bags and other items in the coat room once you have set up your space.
Avoid wearing any strong fragrances to the studio (perfumes, lotions, colognes, etc.) as others may be bothered by these scents.
We want to foster a great community at Red Oak, so feel free to arrive early and spend time engaging with your classmates.
Alert your teacher ahead of class if you an injury or any special needs. Please do not come to class if you are feeling ill.

Dress comfortably in clothes that allow for movement. Bring a yoga mat - we also have several should you need to borrow one. You may want a hand towel and definitely bring water. The studio provides other props such as blocks, bolsters, and straps, but you are welcome to also bring your own.
Bring your body, your mind, your breath. Leave you ego in the coat room!

All minors (anyone under the age of 18) must have a completed Minor Liability Release Policy prior to practicing in the studio. These waivers must be completed in the studio, your instructor will help you with this.

If you need to leave early, please do so before savasana begins.
Savasana is a very important part of the practice and we should all respect our classmates and observe this time in silence.
